Although the finish of the season
was pretty anti-climactic, the 2003 TPTCC/DTM Summer Series has come to a close.
As was expected, summer activities
kept many of those that signed up from making most of the events, but those that turned
out to race had some great on-track experiences, and yet another chance to work on their
racecraft.
As the final points standings will
show, those that showed up the most finished the best - TPTCC/DTM League Administrator
Kevin Jurasinski took the top spot with Assistant League Administrator John Palmer taking
the runner-up spot.
Canadian competitor Clarence
Fiander finished third overall with TPTCC/DTM fast guy Rusty Greer taking 4th - and he
only completed 2 races!
My Apologies, and Thanks to
J.P.
As TPTCC/DTM League Administrator,
I would like to offer my personal apologies for dropping the ball a couple of times this
session - as in being off a week on the Mid-Ohio event due to my vacation schedule, not
updating the web page/results in a very timely manner, and having to drop plenty in J.P.'s
lap due to my work and vacation schedule... :-)
That being said, I would like to
offer a huge personal thanks to J.P. (TPTCC/DTM Assistant Administrator John Palmer) for
helping out where and when he could.
The Future of TPTCC/DTM
With the advent of the mods to NR03
that give us the Trans-Am physics, and with the changes to the car shapes close behind,
the decision has been made to close the doors on the NHeat/DTM version of TPTCC.
As was the case when the change was
made to go to the NHeat/DTM based sim from the NASCAR Racing 3 based version that had been
in use back then, it's time to move on.
Our thanks go out to Hasbro/MGI for
NHeat, and Thomas Heineman for his great DTM mod. I think it's safe to say that TPTCC/DTM
has provided many hours of great competition for all of us.
Thank You!!
That being said, I would like to
give a tip of my hat to those that have helped me out in the past on the administrative
side of racing - and I hope I don't leave anyone out - first and foremost, Jan Kohl, the
guy that started it all and gave me a chance to keep things going, the aforementioned John
Palmer, Cedric Collins for the server space/time, James Altemus, Jeff Hedges, J. D. Ellis,
Chris Roy, everyone I'm forgetting, and last, but not least, Rusty Greer for providing the
setups to get all of us up to speed as soon as possible.
I also want to offer a note of
thanks to all of you that put a car on the grid for one, any, or all of the TPTCC/DTM
events - basically, you are the reason that we administrators have been here, and we can
only hope that your TPTCC/DTM experience was an enjoyable one.
For those moving over TPTCC/NR03,
I'll see you in the pits - for those that aren't, best wishes to you and yours, and I'm
sure our sim-racing paths will cross again!
Best Regards,
Kevin Jurasinski
