After an unlucky
first round, we find Stu in his usual form: On pole, and bringing the pack into Turn1
|
Wow, the whole
field has made it cleanly through the first couple of turns, as we
can see about 14 cars in this scene... Great guys!
|
After losing his 2nd position to Ellis in the previous corner,
Baker(turquoise Opel) gets loose into McLean's Corner,
then recovers, but gets passed by all these cars.....
|
.....and later at Coppice,
surprises Hedges(not shown here) with a late braking, but the
slight contact will send the Aussie driver to this
position, as almost the whole field will pass by- including the beautiful Alfa of Clements,
seen chasing Randy
Sisk.
|
Vreeland, now 3rd
after starting 7th, is again battling with Beno in this round,
as, in the background, the field tightens at the Melbourne
Hairpin.
|
Hedges has just
passed Kohl (after his teammate did the same in the previous
lap), and now, Van Greer will do the same, which drops "The
Pits" Opel to 9th place.
|
Massie's Alfa and
Raumel's Merc are pushed to their limits (and beyond), as they go
wide exiting the chicane while trying hard to catch the duo of
Beno and Vreeland.....
|
......and they do,
so we now have a nice 4 way battle for the 3rd position.
