Good Day:

Motorsims has just released the v1.3 patch for AMA Superbike. This is for those who have not patched through Castanet's in-game patching process. Weighing in at 2.12 MB, it can be grabbed here:

  • Motorsims FTP1
  • Motorsims FTP2

This patch is for the full, retail box version ONLY, not the demo. If you have the demo and are not up to version v1.3 then you will need to use Castanet by using the "Update Game" feature from within the Control Panel.

    Changes in v1.3:

    Changes to the Control Center
Game Setup in the Control Center has been modified as per the following:

    1) Advanced Options of Video Setup have been modified as follows: a. Remove Hidden Terrain slider typically gives higher framerates when turned off (all the way to the left). b. Enable MipMapping and Enable Z Artifact Reduction are unchecked by default. Framerates are typically improved by these defaults. c. Shadow and Riding Lines are typically best viewed with Multi-Pass selected.

    2) Reset Input Devices initializes the game controller for use with AMA Superbike.

    3) Sound Setup is now simplified to the following three options: a. Direct Sound (recommended) uses the Directx directsound library. b. Fallback Sound Hardware and Fallback Sound Software are different sound libraries which may be tried if Directsound is problematic.

    4) CLICK HERE!! FREE ACCOUNT! button is a direct link to the signup page for online play. Once an account has been established and the client.ini file is placed in the AMASuperbike directory, this button will read Play Online.

    5) Scoring and Statistics button is an added feature which will be implemented in the near future.

    6) Account Administration is a direct link to the Motorsims online account administration webpage. User id and password are required to enter this area.

    In-Game Changes

    1) There is now a red and green light in the upper left corner of the race screen to indicate the start of a race.

    2) There is now an indicator placed in the lower right corner of the race screen which designates the current state of the race (Qualification, Pre-Race, Race). This fades away several seconds after the race actually starts. This counter also indicates how much Qualification time is left before the race starts.

    3) Riders are now started in the pits facing the start/finish line for Qualification as opposed to the grid. This allows the rider to heat up the bike's tires before the first lap is actually counted.

    4) There are art improvements/modifications on several bikes and tracks
