The Downloads
It is imperative that you follow the directions for the install, as if you do not it will fail. Make sure you let the installer create an "n@50" directory in your directory that has nascar2.exe or nas50.exe. Both the main and track installers need to go there. Once you have ran those installs, you will need to CLICK ON THE START BAR, and go to "Programs" then "N@50" to click on each of the installs. THEN you will be fully operational.

Current Version - 1.01 Changes since 1.00, Fixes for mirror, several tracks, adds new Bobby Allison car, removes catch fencing from several tracks, adds armco at Myrtle Beach, fixes errors on driver bios, and adds pics for all drivers currently in set, raises pit road speed for AI, and fixes qualifying speed for Alabama.The the main N@50 installer and track installer have also been upgraded to v1.01, as well, the new installer checks to make sure it's been installed in the correct directory now, and prompts the user to back up the layout.dat and sound.dat. now, so the original sim can be reinstalled. Thanks to Matt Harper for the fixes for the catchfencing, and to Joe McAdory for the paintscheme for the Bobby Alison Chevelle.
WARNING! The patch will FAIL if the user has downloaded any of the directory utilities to change the location of N@50 and the cars/tracks/ect. They need to be in the original locations or it WILL NOT WORK!

The new installer will ask you if you want to back up your layout.dat and sound.dat, and will back them up as .nc2 files in the /N@50 directory. To uninstall, copy the backed up layout.nc2, sound.nc2, main.nc2, cars.nc2, and calendar.nc2 files back to their proper locations. One other note, the Indy track is required for the Ontario track, but you need to make sure that it is named "INDY.dat", and not any other variation of that track (indy98, brikyard) or the installer will not install Ontario.

  • Patch for N@50 version 1.00 or 1.01 users - not needed if the above downloads are used. Zip version HERE for people having problems with the .exe version. Just drop into the /nascar2/N@50 directory and run the .bat file. (1.5 Meg)
  • Nashville 1970 - Nashville Speedway, 1970. Banked 35 degrees. Official release for the N@50 patch. (335 K)

  • Darlington 1972 Update - Dave has done a patch based on recent footage of the '72 Darlington track...moves press center to turn 1, and changes grandstands, walls, ect. (240 K)
